Our Story

Nura began with me as a collector.

Long before Nura became a business, I was fascinated by gemstones. I wanted to see the stones myself, pick them individually, understand where they came from, and learn everything I could about how they were sourced and cut.

The deeper I got into collecting, the more interested I became in what happens before a finished gemstone ever reaches a buyer. I wanted to get closer to the source, work directly with the people who source and cut the stones, and remove unnecessary middlemen along the way.

That passion became Nura Gems.

Our name comes from nūr, the Arabic word for “light”, for stones whose beauty is revealed by the way it catches and carries light.

Today, I choose stones the same way I did as a collector: individually and with intention. Color, inclusions, formation, and character are part of what makes each one worth choosing.
